| Tens of thousands buried, on Thursday morning, the body of "Faris Mohamed Ahmed Al-Mashali" who was killed last April by a shot fired from a security checkpoint at the entrance of the city of Al-Habilyn, while he was passing at night, returning from the Yemeni capital Sana'a after the completion of procedures to extract a visa to go abroad. The funeral started from Ibn Khaldun Hospital in Al-Houta city, towards the Al-Malah, which witnessed crowds of the army, on Wednesday. The funeral of "Al-Mashali" Today, comes in conditions of heightened security in the southern provinceof Lahj, which witnessed developing several security checkpoints in the road between the entrance of Aden and the northern city ofAl-Habilyn. Travelers, crossed via Aden-Al-Habilyn road before it is suspended on Monday, said that tanks and armored vehicles were seen in the area of Al-Anad, located between the cities of Aden and Al-Habilyn, which include a famous military base in the Arabian Peninsula. Despite the security, and military measures imposed by the Yemeni government in the southern provinces of Aden, Lahj, and Al-Dhaliea, thousands of people of these provinces could enter Al-Habilyn city. The funeral was also attended by hundreds of the governorates of Abyan and Shabwah, who reached the city from minor roads, away from the new checkpoints. The burial was attended by a number of leaders of the Southern Movement, including Dr. Nasser Khbjee, Brigadier General Mohammad Saleh Tamah, and the leading figure in the S.M "Shalal Ali Shaiea" as well as Brigadier-General Qassim Osman Aldaari, and the leader in the movement in Labaus"Awad bin Awad Salahi" and the counsel Yahya Ghalib Al-Shuaibi and others. The masses chanted calls for "renewal of the Covenant and the fulfillment of the martyrs". They turned to Al-Hamra'a stadium where they prayed, in Aljda'a after the deceased's body was shrouded in the flag of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen. After the funeral, the masses headed towards the "platform of the martyrs" in the city of Al-Habilyn, where speeches and poems of local poets were delivered. The young person, "Mohammed Ahmed Faris Al-Mashali" was shot dead by a security checkpoint at the northern entrance of the city of Al-Habilyn at the night of the 27th and 28th April, during his return from the Yemeni capital Sana'a, where he completed the procedures to extract a visa to go abroad. Separately, a person was wounded, this morning, in Al-Dhaliea province, while people launched a rally the "Southern Prisoner's Day", which is commemorated weakly in order to demand the release the southern detainees in the Yemeni jails. |
